For women who plan to breastfeed their newborns, Denver Health has international board-certified lactation consultants and certified lactation counselors that are committed to helping a mother achieve the best breastfeeding experience for her and her baby.
They offer classes to help moms prepare for breastfeeding prior to delivery. They offer lactation support in the hospital to help mom and baby shortly after birth. In addition, breastfeeding support and education services are available through the Denver Health Women, Infants and Children program which has offices at several locations in Denver.
These special clinics hosted by Webb Pediatric Clinic within the Webb Center for Primary Care and Westside Family Health Center Pediatric Clinic are designed to help ensure that our moms and their newborn patients, receive guidance on nursing from a pediatrician and a nurse who specialize in breastfeeding. Your baby will be weighed before and after the feeding, so you can see how much milk your baby is getting during a feed. You will also be able to ask questions and share concerns with other breastfeeding mothers if you are interested.
They will track your baby’s progress to ensure that the baby is gaining weight and growing properly, and will provide a plan that is unique for you and your baby to make breastfeeding easier. Call Webb clinic at 303-602-8340 and Westside clinic at 303-602-0888 to make an appointment.
Webb: Every Wednesday | 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. |
Westside: Every Tuesday | 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. |
